Mother's Day Ideas! a link up!

I've been a mommy for awhile now, almost 15 years! I know, I know, you don't believe me cause I look so young, right?! Well, it's true! And being a teacher mommy, I know that sometimes our little ones need a hand creating something for their moms, or stepmoms, or grandmothers, or aunts, or any other leading lady in their lives.
So I wanted to share a few ideas that I have used in the past!

My favorite craft, by far...is celery painting! I found it on this little blog and it took some trial and error with so many kids, but I do it each year, so it can't be that bad!
The tutorial is super specific, so I didn't recreate it!
and here's what you get!

another yearly favorite is bath salts! Now, oil of essence is a little tougher to find, but luckily we have a health food store nearby. But you can also order it on Amazon! This idea would go great with Katie's new Mommy Spa product!

I literally have them sit in the floor in a circle. Each kid gets a snack size zippy bag, and we pass the Epsom salts around. They put in 2 or 3 scoops. Then we pass the oil around. They put in 2 DROPS! Zip-shake-done! As you can see, we have added food coloring before...let's just say I am pretty sure it comes out in the tub! So now we do au naturale!
The kids decorate the front anyway they think their mom would like, then record the directions for use on the back! It's simply a large index card stapled over the zippy part! You could also make a sugar scrub! yum!

And last, but not least! We host a Garden Tea Party!
You can read more about it here (and why we have it), but here's the scoop all in one nifty product! I just rehauled this thing! This file includes a Happy Mother's Day banner, cards for invitations (also editable), food and drink table tent signs, place cards for mom, and more! and it doesn't have to be a tea party either! I also included just a plain ol' we love love our momma party! as well as a Special Ladies sign in case your kiddos need that option! I am smitten with these colors right now!

It's a BIG UPDATE!

Hi It's Reagan from Tunstall's Teaching Tidbits and I am excited to bring you a big update on my Flipping for Phonics Pack!  I added 20 new sound cards to the existing 144!  To see how I use these flip books in guided reading you can check out this post HERE!

Next year I already have plans for revamping my guided reading area!  I seriously can't wait to show you! Is your mind on next year too? #teacherproblems

Part of the new and improved guided reading area will be a focus wall where you will find these cards on display as well!  Here's a look at a few of the 164 pages.

This year I created this product to help my student warm up the sound and spellings that they had learned in kinder and with me in first, but it just exploded into all the sound spellings we could imagine.  I pull out different books for different groups.  The students beg to move on to a new book as they master the one before.   They also want to put them in their read to self boxes.  SCORE one for teacher!!
Another way I use these flip books is for the volunteers that come pull out kids and my own RTI documentation.  They are a fantastic way to be sure you are reviewing daily!

If you need work work phonics activities to go along with your phonics instruction in reading I also have a big old phonics packet that continues to grow just like this one does!   It hits on the sound spellings my students and I are accountable for in spelling and our reading series.  I am continuing to add to it. {I also sell each one separately in my store too}

Here we were working on R blends
I keep these in a 5 drawer tower dedicated to work work. Each day students choose a new activity that practices the pattern of the week.
Have a terrific week!

It's a giveaway galore!

Hi Friends!  It's Cheryl of Primary Graffiti.  It's been a hot minute since I posted so I decided to pop in and say hello!!!!!

It's the time of the year where standards are taught and year end assessments begin.  To ensure my students gain the added practice on previously taught skills, I created a growing bundle of phonics word work activities.  Included in the packs: interactive journal page, centers, and no prep activities! each image below links to individual file on TpT.  The last image will link to the growing bundle.

If you are unfamiliar, the growing bundle will continue to have additional files added to the zip folder.  They will be available to the buyer at no additional cost.  However, as the bundle grows, the price will be adjusted for the additional files.

Summer is on my mind.  I'm sure thinking about content at this point makes your head spin.  Mine sure does!  I'm down to 34 days remaining!!!!  At this point last year, I created a pack for an end of the year gift.  The kids were given a thumb drive with my Absorb Summer Content: Homework for Kindergarten Graduates.  In addition to the file, the thumb drive contained images from throughout the school year with a few digital scrapbook pages, and our year end slide show.  It truly was a treasured gift!

If you are interested in the summer content packet, here's a preview....

You can see expanded images of each thumbnail in my blog post at primarygraffiti. The image above will link to my store.  I'm currently working on Homework for 1st Grade Graduates with the same formatting.

In preparation for counting down, I have a cute little freebie I've made and used for the past several years.  The kids get so excited counting down with their ABCs.  Each day is filled with fun!

Although I will need a slight break before planning next year, I noticed many of you don't wait.  I have two files that I hope might peek your interest.

First, I have a year-round homework packet with calendars, sight word rings, and assessments available for kindergarten and first grade.  My goal is to start the 2nd grade calendar as soon as possible.  I must get through the social studies interactive notebook and swallowed a shell sub tub first.  I have a packet for Kindergarten and First Grade.  These packs have made my past two years a breeze!

Second, I want to share my Interactive Science Journals.  Oh my, they have been a huge hit with my students.  Their journals are simply outstanding!  I packaged the journals separately and combined them into a bundle at a discounted price.

I've been working on and off to complete a social studies set.  It's so time consuming!

So now for the fun, I want to give away copies of each unit above.  Each giveaway will be hosted separately to allow for more winners rather than one.  You are welcome to enter each.  I will be back on Sunday, here on this post, to display winners on each rafflecopter.

Handwriting Hall of Fame and Vegas!?!

Hi all! Elizabeth here from Kickin' it in Kindergarten! It's been awhile since I've hopped overe here to say hello.
As you all are well aware, we need some reinforcement this time of the year. Whew...do we ever.
I put this guy up on Thursday and it has seemed to be the magic ticket. A little bit of a glitter on poster goes a long way {got the poster from Target}.

I am pulling all kinds of tricks out of my hat this time of the year. This is a way to recognize the kiddos that have been giving you their best work and to pull those babies up that need a little extra...push. It is amazing what it does for that student and then how it impacts the other students. They ALL want to be on that wall at the end of the day. I can only manage to keep up with it at the end of the year, but I'm sure you are way more together than I am and could keep up with it all year!

It doesn’t always have to be the kiddo with the best handwriting that goes up there, but you will notice that students will start taking extra care. Be sure you let everyone up there at some point!

I put my own little handwriting unit together, but you can create one yourself!

I am going to be in Vegas this summer! Are you!?! Rachelle from What the Teacher Wants just created this group for the meet-up that will be happening while we are there it is SO ridiculously fun!!! The 9th may or may not be my anniversary {sorry hubs}. If your coming...be sure to join the FB group so you can stay up-dated!
